Conference Rooms are named after local tech luminaries, in this case MIT Prof. Harold "Doc" Edgerton, inventor of the electronic flash and my lab professor. My lab project was a flash picture of MIT - taken from across the river. We had some very big flash units mounted at 180 Beacon Street, with a slave unit on the Green Building.
